Major Seventh is a group of musicians that shares the same belief, that jazz & love are 2 similar things. They both represent the freedom of soul & mind. That’s why they always come together in harmony. It was November 2004 when the Passion for Jazz brought Roy Irawan (the Founder of Major Seventh) to form a group of professional musicians that share the same vision. Roy Irawan, Edo Edwardz and Rudy Hutagaol were three of the first members of the band. Since then the group has developed by recruiting some new members and contributing their work in one of the biggest Jazz Festivals in the World, Java Jazz Festival 2009 & 2010. The Festival itself attracts attention not only Jazz lovers from Indonesia, but also from around the world. Performing live, the show attracted a lot of fans and also new listeners of their music, and the reaction was mesmerizing. It was indeed a great opportunity for them to come out to public and show their true colors. Their biggest achievements so far are being able to hold their 1st Concert in April 25, 2008 at The Erasmus Huis, Jakarta, and their 2nd Concert on 12 August 2009 at Goethe Haus, Jakarta. Up until today Major Seventh still exist and staying in the Jazz lane, hoping that their contribution will enrich the music industry in Indonesia.
